Well while this frigid weather has been playing havoc with my horses' training and teaching lessons, I have been very productive on the sewing front. I got quite a few shirts done last month, and watch your inboxes for my upcoming projects. Right now I'm working on a couple of corsets, after that there'll be a ball gown, another day dress, some more shirts and vests, and wedding stuff! Hooray!
Stay warm everyone and Happy almost Valentines Day!
Wow what a year! 2013 seemed to fly by so here are some of my highlights:
1. Quit my job at Hallmark!
2. Started teaching lessons at the barn where I board my horses. (Even started taking some of my students to shows where they have been doing amazing!)
3. I have been doing a lot of sewing for Reenacting! I've had to put a lot of my own projects on hold as a lot of people ordered shirts and vests.
4. I also was voted the vice president of our Civil War Reenacting group.
5. Attended the 150th anniversary of Gettysburg! (Also managed to tear the cartilage in my knee... but I'm better now!)
6. Got my sidesaddle and started learning to ride! It is a lot of fun!
7. I GOT ENGAGED!!! A few days before Christmas my wonderful, amazing boyfriend asked my to marry him! And of course I said YES!
So for 2014 I'm looking forward to continuing working with my horses and my students. And hopefully getting my thoroughbred retraining program off the ground. I'm looking forward to another wonderful year of Reenacting and a lot more sewing. And starting to plan my wedding with the love of my life!
Here's to a great new year!
So last month I kinda forgot to write a journal entry. Whoops, but life is good. I'm officially teaching lessons at the barn where I board my horses. And my sidesaddle came and I've been having a blast riding in it. The only thing that is weird is learning to balance my weight over my right thigh rather than down my centerline. But I feel like every time I ride in it I get a little better.
Other than that it's about time to start working on my and my horses' Halloween costumes. I'm taking it easy this year and doing something really easy. But it's something I've been wanting to do for a while now so stay tuned for pictures.
